Hiking/Backpacking Groups Tours
You will enjoy a true Apache lifeways experience by hiking or backpacking on foot. Groups range from 1 person to no more than 10. These full day 9:30am-2:30pm daytime backpacking and hiking tours include an experienced guide and educational escort who will take you through sacred wilderness canyons and valleys of wildflowers, streams, and forests of Aspens and evergreens.
All group hiking/backpacking tours are customized to the interests and experience levels of the participants, the seasons, and the natural conditions. Backpacking and hikes include very experienced guides. Group Tours start from our basecamp trailhead. We offer an add-on cost option for those who wish to have an “exclusive trip.” Our Exclusive Reservation Add-On, per group, per day is only an additional $100.
Most Hiking/Backpacking Group Tours start at 9:30am* from our WolfHorse Outfitters base camp in Arenas Valley, New Mexico, 3 Miles East of Silver City, at the Fort Bayard Elk Refuge / Dragonfly Trailhead. *Please arrive 10 minutes prior to start time.
As an option, for those hikers/backpackers who have an interest in other specific wilderness areas or sites, we enjoy doing that, too. Let us know what you are interested in.
Full Day Group Rate 1-10 people: $250 Full Day 9:30-2:30 (Gear and Meals Additional) Exclusive Reservation Add-On, per group, per day $100.
This is an educational, Continental Divide Preparatory Trip. This 5-7 day experiential seminar includes 2-3 days of instructional guidance and 4-5 days of wilderness practicum, determined by the experience and skills of participants. Educator/Guide, Saddle Horse, Pack Horse, Riding Tack, and Meals are included. Each participant brings their own personal gear and sleeping bag. There is a 1-2 Person Limit and a 5-Day Minimum with 10-Day Maximum. We meet at a predetermined trailhead location. Accommodations and Transportation to our meeting place are not included.

WolfHorse Outfitters is committed to reducing the amount of planetary waste. We highly discourage the use of single-use plastics, styrofoam, and contaminants to our rivers and streams. Leave no trace. We highly encourage leaving all tech gadgets behind with the exception of a camera. This is your opportunity to disconnect from work and reconnect with the sights and sounds that only Nature provides. This is an immersive experience.

Bookings for Hiking/Backpacking Tours from WolfHorse Outfitters Base Camp require payment in full prior to trout considered "booked." Cancellation and No Shows forfeit payment. See complete Cancellation policy in Terms.
Our guides will have the final call in regards to weather. Should we make the decision to cancel Hiking & Backpacking Tours, you have the option of rescheduling and will not incur any charges. We have different policies for Multi-Day Pack Trips. We have different policies for Multi-Day Pack Trips and Multi-Day Adventure Rides.
Our guides are working long before and long after your ride begins and ends. They do their best to provide you with an unbeatable experience. If you had a great time on your ride, show your appreciation by tipping your guides.

We have many repeat groups who book their seasonal and annual trips in advance. We suggest booking no later than March for the current year.
